bombs and more bombs

Friends,

Like many of you, I have had concerns about Yasser’s safety, and whether or not the play could put his family at risk of being targeted. He has always responded that he wants us to go ahead. That he is honored to be sending a message to the world about what it is like to live in genocide, etc.

The last few day, he has sent me voice texts of the very loud planes overhead. Today there was artillery fire. Ongoing. Constant. He can’t sleep.

Some days ago, he sent the script for the play to a friend in France who is going to translate it and perform it there. Today, he says he has a friend in Japan who is going to do the same thing. In the US so far, we had 2 performances in Burlington and upcoming performances in Woodstock, NY (Nov. 15) and in St. Johnsbury, VT (Jan. 4). With all this happening, I again asked Yasser about his safety. Please see his response below.

I just want to keep you all updated. I need to find a better place to consolidate info so you can check without me having to send out emails. Anyway, I look forward to hearing how people are doing with getting performances up.

Peace,

Crystal
